My Travel Bucket List

"IT'S A FUNNY THING COMING HOME. NOTHING CHANGES. EVERYTHING LOOKS THE SAME, FEELS THE SAME, EVEN SMELLS THE SAME. YOU REALIZE WHAT'S CHANGED IS YOU." - F. Scott Fitzgerald

It's hard to think of something I enjoy more than traveling. I love getting the opportunity to see new places, meet new people, and experience new cultures. I strongly believe that the trips and adventures you take help you grow as a person and help you truly find yourself.

Now don't get me wrong,  I have had my share of bad traveling stories, wrong gates, missed flights, lost in big cities, but trust me when I say that the good memories out weigh the bad. All of those stressful situations only made me stronger.

As I sit down to write this, I find that like many people, I have a few places that automatically stick out and scream take me there. Those places are included in the list below but you will also find  places I never really put much thought into traveling too, that is until sitting down and truly thinking of all the magical places the world has to offer!
  • Hawaii
  • Florida Keys
  • Machu Picchu
  • Costa Rica
  • Cape Town, South Africa
  • Yellowstone National Park
  • Cabo San Lucas, Mexico
  • Alaska
  • Los Angeles
  • London
  • Rome, Italy
  • Bahamas
  • Australia
  • Fiji
  • New York City
Those cover some, but not all places I would love to visit in the world. I could go on for days listing off every single destination my heart aches to visit. Have you been any of these places? What are your top destinations you would love to visit?

Life Lately: February 2016

I would like to start this post by saying I am one of the worlds worst bloggers.  In a dream world I would love to post every other day, but in reality I barely have time to catch my breath or sit down and relax for an hour or two. January was a crazy busy month, and February is ten times worse. I have been living by the saying 'so much to do, so little time'.  Because so much has been happening I thought I would spend a little time updating you on my life lately!

Birthday:  I celebrated my 22nd birthday on January 29 and I was fortunate to extend the celebration over multiple days. Fun fact, every year on my birthday there is snow, and this year there happened to be a lot, forcing me to stay in and celebrate the night before and days after. A special thank you goes out to my best friend Courtney who despite the awful weather tried to make my birthday a magical one!

Florida: I was blessed with the opportunity to spend my Spring Break in sunny Orlando, Florida with friends. While there I was able to visit the Disney Parks, Universal, Disney Springs, lay by the pool and feed my shopping addiction by stopping into a local Outlet in search of President Day sales.  Although I will be paying off this trip for awhile, it was well worth it and I treasure every moment and memory from it.

University: I'm not sure about you, but my university calls what most people would consider spring break, 'reading week.' Most people take advantage of the time off to travel or relax, much like I did in Florida. But all of that relaxation comes at a price. In hopes that we are taking that much needed break to study and gain control for the rest of the semester, most if not all Midterm examinations are scheduled the first few days back to classes. This means I have 3 exams to study for and write all within the first three days of being back in class, and let me tell you ... I certainly did not study while in Florida, there was simply to much to do and so much to see.

Blogging: I am going to be completely honest with you when I say that I am a little discouraged when it comes to blogging.  I have come to a point where I wanted to use my blog to help others, share ideas and make new and long lasting friendships with fellow bloggers but I feel as though no one is reading or even cares about my blog or what I post. I know this sounds a little dramatic but I wanted to be honest and share my true thoughts and feelings. I know I am not alone and I am sure many of you reading have gone through these same thoughts and feelings before, and with that being said ... I would love some advice or encouragement to help me get through this phase. Even a simple suggestion of some blog posts you would like to see would help a lot.

Love Life & Relationships: Still single, and probably always will be. Although I would love to find the right guy and be in a committed relationship, its hard to get out there and meet people when you have anxiety and are also socially awkward. Until I conquer a miracle, I would love to hear your love stories, the good, the bad, and the awkward!

I Don't Know About You But I'm Feeling 22: Birthday Post

I cannot believe another year has come and gone, and let me just say my twenty-first year is one I will never forget. Filled with lots of new adventures, trips and milestones, they were easily the highlight of my year, but with those achievements came challenges and loss, ones that helped shape and grow me as a person. I am truly grateful for all of you who have supported me in my blogging journey and I cannot wait to meet and interact with more of you!

A year ago today I posted Birthday Post: 21 Facts About Me and I thought this year I would continue the tradition and share 22 new facts about myself! With such a great response and high views last year (If you haven't read last years post be sure to click the link above!)  I'm sure you will enjoy this years post just as much! Enjoy!

  1. I am horrible at taking pictures. Landscapes, group pictures, selfies, you name it.
  2. I own twice as many scarves as I do pants.
  3. I love monogramed things yet I don't own any.

  8. At times I can have very bad 'road rage'.
  9. I cannot cook eggs, they never turn out right and most times they are not edible.

  12. I have a slight addiction with reading stories off of Wattpad.
  13. For twenty-two years I have tried to French braid my hair and still cannot get it correct.
  14. Last summer I travelled to New Hampshire, Boston, Maine, Toronto, Prince Edward Island and Ireland. You could say I had a little bit of a 'travel bug'.
  15. The majority of my time at school is spent on Pinterest (be sure to follow me) instead of studying.
  16. My favourite clothing store is Dynamite, could easily spend all of my money there.
  17. I hate coffee and tea, hot chocolate will always be my favourite hot drink.
  18. I am beyond horrible at all math and science subjects, no idea why I keep taking them.
  19. Guilty. I am one of those people who will delete a photo off of Instagram if it doesn't get 11 likes.
  20. I have multiple names for my future children picked out... mostly girls names as I find them all so pretty.
  21. I have always wanted to start a Youtube channel, hopefully this year will be the year I buckle down and make one. Would  you guys watch videos if I uploaded them?
  22. I am truly grateful for all of my supporters, you are the reason I still continue to blog!
I want to thank you all for your continued support, there is nothing I enjoy more than getting to know each and every one of you. Leave a comment saying hi or tell me a fact about yourself! xoxo

Pinterest Picks: My Style

Want to know a fun fact about me? I hope your answer is yes because I am going to tell you anyway... I have a slight addiction to Pinterest, as I'm sure many of you do as well! I find myself going on to look up a recipe for supper and four hours later logging off with a months worth of recipes as well as a new design for my room and a new dream wardrobe.

For those of you who don't know what this magical site is, I will give you a quick summary. Pinterest is a social network that allows its users to visually share their interests, outfits, DIY projects, recipes, decorating tips and tricks, and show much more with their followers. With a click of a button your favourite outfit or recipe can be 'pinned' onto its designated board that is organized into whatever category you want! It's hard to fully grasp what the site is until you start to use it, and I highly recommend you give it a try if you have not already!

I thought that I would share with you some of my all time favourite fashion looks I have come across on Pinterest over the years, if I had an unlimited supply of cash you can best believe that I would own all of these! Enjoy!

If you would like to see where I found all of these outfits, check the 'My Style' board on my Pinterest, link above!

If any of you have Pinterest I would love to give you a follow and see all of the wonderful things you have pinned!  xoxo

Fall Fashion

Fall is by far my favourite season to express my style and try new outfits. The colder weather provides me with the opportunity to layer and accessorize staple pieces in my wardrobe.  The following is one of my go-to fall outfits that is perfect for running to class, Christmas shopping and so much more.

Sweater: Purchased at Forever 21, this sweater is super soft and comfy, the color goes with almost everything I own and can be dressed up or down.

Leggings: Although any pair of black leggings work, this pair purchased from Dynamite has leather detailing down the side, giving the look more detail and edge.

Sunglasses: This pair of sunglasses from GlassesShop are perfect for any fall day. With the time change, I find myself driving to and from my classes right as the sun rises and sets making it hard to see the road, making these glasses a much needed accessory. If you would like your own pair, GlassesShop is offering 50% off of eyeglasses and sunglasses with free lenses (sale frames excluded), just use the coupon code GSHOT50 when checking out. http://www.glassesshop.com/

Scarf: Also purchased at Forever 21, this scarf is perfect for any fall outfit and can keep you warm on those cold, brisk fall days.

Vest: This black, light weight, zip-up vest is from Old Navy. It is perfect to throw over any sweater and add layers to your outfit.

Boots: Purchased at Target, these black and brown riding boots add comfort and style to any outfit.

Fall Fashion: Apple Picking

I love fall and all of its fashion opportunities. Its cold enough for a sweater, light jacket or vest, but not cold enough where I need winter boots, hats or mittens!

The following is an outfit I wore apple picking, a perfect fall day (minus the fact that it started snowing as we were about to leave!)

Jacket: I picked up this jacket at Old Navy. It has a removable liner so it if perfect for fall, winter and spring! I absolutely love the color as it goes with everything and it super easy to dress up or down!

Scarf: I purchased this scarf while in Ireland over the summer at a store called Penneys, and it was probably my favourite purchase of the entire trip! I am in love with the colors and it is cozy and warm, perfect for those cold fall days!

Boots: The boots are just your standard pair of brown riding boots, I picked mine up at Aldo! I swear by these boots, they are stylish, comfy and perfect for shopping, school and work!

What are your favourite fall fashions? Leave a comment letting me know!
